SOUK MARCHÉ

Souk Marché is a place for us to gather. Inspired by the culture of souks throughout the Middle East and North Africa, this marketplace is an opportunity to experience MENA food, music, apparel, art, books and more in downtown Los Angeles.

While past souk events have focused on the celebration of MENA culture, we plan Souk Marché in full acknowledgement of the incredibly difficult time we are going through. More than ever Souk Marché is meant to be a space of support, in which we show up to meet friends old and new, shop MENA vendors, and leave knowing the strength of our community.

Organized by FYVP’s Palestinian designer Vanessa Dahbour, this Souk Marché echoes the resilience of Palestinians. Programming includes Palestinian speakers and artists as well as a collective moment of silence for Gaza.

In FYVP ethos, 15% of proceeds from all Souk Marché sales (tickets and vendor) are donated to Anera and The PCRF.* We have worked with these organizations over the last several years and seen their effectiveness in person.

We welcome everyone at Souk Marché, and encourage our non-Arab friends to attend and support!

If you’re a MENA business interested in participating, or an individual interested in volunteering, please fill out our application form by Nov 12.

*UPDATE: a private donor will match this amount!
